StackCheck ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

The short version: We collect only what's necessary to provide you with personalized nutrition insights. Your food photos are processed for nutrient analysis and are not stored permanently on our servers.

We never sell your data or use it for third-party advertising or tracking. Your food photos, health data, and personal information are used solely to provide you with personalized nutrition insights — nothing else.

Ad attribution: If you install StackCheck on iPhone after tapping one of our Apple Ads, Apple tells us which campaign and search keyword led to the install. We receive this through RevenueCat and use it only to understand which of our ads work. It is not shared with anyone for advertising, and Apple provides it without tracking you across other companies' apps or websites.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email address
• Name (if provided)
• Authentication credentials (securely managed via AWS Cognito or social sign-in providers)

Health & Nutrition Data

To provide personalized insights, we collect:

• Food logs (meals you photograph or manually enter)
• Supplement information you track
• Health goals you select during onboarding
• Nutrient intake calculated from your food logs

Photos

When you photograph a meal, the image is sent to our servers for AI-powered food recognition. Photos are processed in real-time and are not stored permanently. We retain only the extracted nutritional data, not the original images.

Device & Usage Information

We automatically collect:

• Device type and operating system
• App version
• General usage patterns (screens visited, features used)
• Crash reports and performance data

How We Use Your Information

• Provide the Service: Analyze your food intake, track nutrients, and generate personalized recommendations.
• Improve the App: Understand how features are used to make StackCheck better.
• Communicate: Send important updates about your account or the service.
• Support: Respond to your questions and troubleshoot issues.

Cookies & Website Analytics

Our website (trystackcheck.app) uses privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics to understand how visitors use the site — which pages they read, how far they scroll, and where they drop off — so we can improve it. We use PostHog (hosted in the United States) and Cloudflare Web Analytics.

No cookies, no cross-site tracking. These tools do not store cookies or persistent identifiers on your device, do not follow you across other websites, and we do not sell this data or use it for advertising. We collect only aggregate, anonymous usage — pages viewed, scroll depth, clicks, and general device type — never your name, email, or any of the health data you enter in the app.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:

• Service Providers: Third parties that help us operate (cloud hosting and text extraction via AWS, payment processing and subscription analytics via RevenueCat/Google Play, AI-powered food recognition via Anthropic and Google, food and nutrition data lookup via FatSecret, crash and performance monitoring via Sentry, and cookieless website analytics via PostHog and Cloudflare — see Cookies & Website Analytics above). These providers are bound by confidentiality agreements.
• Legal Requirements: If required by law or to protect our rights and safety.

Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Your account is protected by secure authentication through AWS Cognito. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., fraud prevention).

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Export your data in a portable format
